2007-2008 Supply List
Supplies that you will need to bring on the first day of school:
- Backpack - Just big enough to hold a folder, a couple of reading books, and a small pillow and small blanket if you want to bring those on reading days. (Please, no backpacks with wheels or backpacks that have hard plastic. They are larger and don't collapse down to fit in our backpack box).
- 12-inch ruler with inches and centimeters.
- Reusable pull-top water bottle. We have a water dispenser in the classroom, so each student needs a good non-disposable water bottle to leave at school that will last the entire year (They can take them home periodically to wash them).
- Chapter books to read during silent reading and when work is finished (I have hundreds in the classroom that you are welcome to use, but there might be new ones you want to buy or you might want to bring some from home that you haven't read yet. You can also order great, cheap books from Scholastic every month).
- Plastic pencil/crayon box that snaps shut (Standard size - approx. 8"x5"x2").
- Scissors (Preferably Fiskars-type student scissors).
- Colored pencils – (12 or 24 count box).
- Crayons – (24 count box).
- Clipboard (Standard size - approx. 9"x12").
- Addition, subtraction, and multiplication flash cards.
- $12.00 for a student planner, homework folders, journal, Spalding notebook, pencils, cap erasers, white glue, hand sanitizer, and safety compasses (Mr. Eyre will purchase in bulk…will last all year).
- 1 Package of wide-ruled notebook paper.
- 3 Large pink or Magic Rub erasers.
- 3 Glue Sticks.
PLEASE WRITE YOUR NAME ON ALL OF YOUR SUPPLIES IN PERMANENT MARKER.
Are you willing to donate to our classroom supplies? We need:
- Gallon and quart size Ziploc freezer bags.
- Tissues.
Please do NOT bring the following items to school (Many of these items have caused problems in previous years):
- White glue – I will have plenty of this for when we need it.
- Pencils or pencil cap erasers – I will buy these in bulk for class work. This way, we never run out of pencils or erasers and the system works very well. However, they MUST stay in the classroom. You may want to buy some to keep at home for homework.
- Pencil sharpeners – Please don’t bring your own sharpeners. Somehow those shavings always get on the floor. I will always have sharp pencils available and a sharpener for your colored pencils.
- Markers or pens.
- Stickers or stamps.
- Toys (unless you are bringing it for show-and-tell, in which case it must stay in your backpack until it is time to show it).
If you have any questions about supplies, please call me at (480) 216-5784. Remember, lots of these things can be used from last year…they don’t all have to be new.
